Help me out here, HBG ... but I think that is what it is ... saw it perched on a power pole ... by the time I got the freaking lens changed and rolled down the window of the car, he took off .. as usual ...not many hawks around anymore, he musta been late or missed the bus south entirely ....

VERY nice Matt. Love the sharp eye and the posture you captured, and yes, a Roughie for sure. Many a time they will not migrate far, as they are an arctic dweller anyways. As long as food is plentiful, and the weather is not too harsh they will stick around. They tend to like the open fallow field areas, as it is what they are used to on the barrens of their summer grounds.
