    was lucky to get this Red-Tailed Hawk. He was nicely modelling for me ...

    Very nice shots. Sharp and intense stare in the first one.

    Shots like this have nothing to do with luck Matt. These are exquisitely sharp and so well defined. VERY nicely done on both.
    Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!

    Thanks all for the kind words. But HBG, it does have to do with luck as well. Usually when I approach a hawk on a post, it sits there, waiting for me to raise the camera to my eye, and then it flies off .... this one, I suppose it was a youngen, stayed, giving me the opportunity to concentrate on the shot.

    Great sharpness indeed. Even if he didnt fly off, he is obviously keeping an eye on you in that first one
