    I found this bluetongue lizard in amongst my asparugus last weekend. I managed just 1 quick shot before he decided to take off.

    Superb detail of this not so friendly looking creature.
    Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!

    Thanks Aub and HBG. They are actually incredibly docile and timid and will only show you their blue tongue as a warning if cornered or provoked. They are very common, even in metropolitan areas, in summer and are sometimes kept as pets.

    Mind you they do give you a bit of shock when your stumble across them.
