    Default Don't annoy this pelican

This pelican was not amused by me hiding in the bushes and standing each time he came up with a mouthful. Finally, after he'd eaten his fill, he got mad and while vocalizing angrily, he ran across the water until he got airborne, then flew right at me, squawking angrily, and very loud. Looking at this through a 600mm lens, it looked like he was going to hit me. He turned away eventually and I kept on shooting. Great fun; Rich

No mistaking that glare, right into the lens.

I was thinking about that big, yellow hook on the end of his beak.

Well ole cranky feathers certainly presented you with a great opportunity... and you didn't waste it. Nice sharp shots and something different.

I don't usually get the opportunity to photograph these birds where I live, however I really enjoyed them on my recent trip to Florida. I love the intensity in #4. Nice work!

Thanks, Mike. Intensity is right, the squawks he was letting out added greatly to the intensity. Rich

Thank you, Bambi. Yup, geese are belligerent, and they usually don't need a reason. Also, they are too greasy. Rich
