    Default Waterfowl Migration has Begun.

The waterfowl migration has been very slow starting this year, and in fact I started out the morning at -19c. I suspected that I may get shut out due to the ice and the fairly calm winds however I got lucky and there was a little pocket of open water in front of one of my favorite spots. I had divers funneling into this hole all day. While I would usually use the Canon 7D for this kind of thing, I opted for the 6D as the cropper was going to be too tight with the 400 F/5.6L. The 6D did a great job (for a body that isn't suppose to do well with BIF).

Here are a few of my favs from the shoot.

So many fantastic images. Nice variety and very sharp and well exposed. Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful set of images. Seems like waterfowl just look dorky when they're trying to land.

Great set Mike. That 6th one and the last one are hilarious.
