    Default Howlin'

Haven't been on for awhile. With winter setting in real hard, (we have had over 380 cm's of snow so far), finding it hard to get motivated. Hubby got a new job at, of all things, a Wildlife Rehab Sanctuary. I also do some photography, and volunteer work there when I can.

This is Zoey. A female Coyote that is one of the permanent residents there. She is very wild and many wouldn't even know she exists. She hides in her large 1 acre enclosure whenever people approach, so I find myself very fortunate to have been able to get this shot of her howling.

I have been wondering where you were. I thought maybe the Nikon wasn't working for you , but I now see that isn't the case. Nice shot and story.

A very lovely image. It doesn't look like the traditional belly howl that you usually see (TV, Movies, etc.) ... she seems more relaxed.

Just a cheap shot from me, as I understand HBG as turned to the dark side.

For a short second there I thought you may have moved to Boston. To be serious, I've seen on the weather forecasts all these storms off of Georgian Bay but I didn't realize it meant that much snow in your area.
Congrats to hubby on his new job. It seems quite fitting for him and you to be associated with this sanctuary and look forward to seeing lot more pictures from there
From reading your story she must be hard to get a picture of, so congrats on getting this lovely image and perfect timing to catch her howling.

Thanks all for the kind compliments.
As for the snow, we quit keeping track after 450cm's. Yes living just inland from Georgian Bay/Lake Huron we def get a little snow in the winter.
As for the switch to Nikon - Couldn't be happier. Now just have to build up my lens collection. Have the "Holy Trinity" and a cheap telephoto for now, to get us through the winter. Looking at a macro for spring, and a high quality tele also. Liking the new 300 f4 VR results so far.
