A few folks seem to like the eagles shots, so I'll share one more from this past spring just before the ice broke up. Once the ice goes, they head back into deeper woods and fish from the inland lakes. Only in winter do they venture so close to the shore to find open water or remnants of food. I'd hate to get gripped by those things!

I guess throwing a big chunk of meat down (I'm assuming that's yours ) increases your chances of a good shot ... which you got obviously. Awesome.

    Default Eagle food

Nope MA . . no chumming done here. There are several of these guys that set up shop most of the winter in trees along a bit of open water where you can watch them fish if you're very careful. They make a real mess when eating and the gulls scavenge what pieces they can. They really annoy the eagles when they're fishing. Once in a while an eagle will spot a leftover and gulp a "free" meal uneaten by the gulls. Big trick is to know where to be and not be seen. . . . and dress WARM.

They're both good shots...Make that great shots but the first one is one of the best I've ever seen of an Eagle about to grip its prey! Well done
