When we played pond hockey growing up our Border Collie retrieved the puck when it landed in the deep snow. We alternated pucks so we didn't have to stop playing. Laddie just kept digging til he found it and dropped it on the ice for next time.

Mike and I were looking after a border collie for a few months once...we couldn't figure out why he would go nuts in the car...turned out it was every time the wiper blades were going and at the time it was spring so it rained alot!
One day I was in a bad mood and the dog started and I just turned around, looked at him and said ENOUGH in the biggest Mom voice I could muster!...it must've scared the bejebus out of him cuz he went instantly silent and settled right down and never did it agian.
    Mike was stunned...and I think a little intimidated too...lol!

Anyhow we had a good laugh at Shadow's reaction!

    thanks for the comments guys.
BC's can get a wee bit obsessive. For D'Arcy it's hockey and any yard work. He supervises the gardening, raking, snow blowing etc.s..,. If I could find a way to train him to do housework I'd be a happy woman.
