    Default First Owl

It was a very nice day today so I headed over to a little marsh that is a short walk from my house. There was nothing around when I first got there but after about 15mins of waiting a pissed off group of chickadees announced the arrival of this little owl, he was no bigger than a sparrow. I looked it up on the web and I think he is a Northern Pygmy Owl, I felt very lucky to have gotten some pictures of him.

He is a cutie. I also spent a couple of minutes scanning "the marsh" shot looking for him

Haha, sorry for the first "trick" image. I was actually pretty close, with a 200mm f5.6 lens, sure makes you want a nice 300mm f2. I was straining to keep my iso low to keep out the noise. More stuff to buy
