    Default Speed Freaks

Went over to the neighbours and just caught the end of the races.
These dogs are amazing to watch and they all just love to run.
Unlike the oval tracks down in south States, these are all pets when not racing and it is mostly fun. But then again its all judged and pointed for standings. This day the races were a straight track at 300 ft. they are running an oval next time.
We got invited back to take photos of the next weekend of races. Looking forward to it. Real challenging when they fly by @ 45mph and only 4 ft. away.

Start off with the Basenji's. Beautiful, highly energetic little fella's.

The whippets are quite a bit quicker and turn on a dime. this one, (Cruise), the owner took the gear off to get a few "fun" shots.

The "all hair" afghan. Quite showy, but still quick.

And the quickest of all, the Greyhound. These things can reach there top speed of 45 mph from a standstill, in six strides.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!

I love the pure joy dogs exhibit when they run. It's so obvious how they love to move. Very nice catch HBG

I laughed when I saw the Afghan (poor thing, I shouldn't). Mike had one for years. He said the drunks that lived in the apartment complex behind his house would sit by the fence and pour out their troubles to him (the dog), and that the dog would make noises that sounded like sympathy. Funniest thing, but I bet it made the people feel better.

    Thanks for the compliments everyone.
Yes the Afghan is all dolled up as to not tatter any hair. She is actually a very high points show dog, and they let her course for fun. They even had some Boston Terriers on the course, now that was hilarious.
