I've really enjoyed your macro shots, so much so that I ordered a macro lens today. I found out that ordering from the US, there are no duties on lenses, only GST. Lenses are much cheaper there, even with shipping charges.

Excellent series OWLP. All so sharp and perfect exposure.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!

Depends on the lens. many canadian sellers are readjusting prices due to the dollar being so close. Currently there are new lenses in Montreal that are cheaper than in the US. ALSO keep in mind that although there are no duties per se, you CAN get raped by brokerage fees depending on the shipper. I've had great experiences overall when the parcel is delivered bu USPS and bad bad luck with UPS. ALSO keep in mind that if we are talking Nikon, the guarantee in canada is TWO years not one, AND servicing that lens will be a pain in the butt. Many big brands will NOT service your lens (in your country) if you purchased it in another country. Just my but it's worth at least a nickel.

New camera/lenses - personally i would never buy them from the US. Used gear and accessories - a whole other story; Love the USA!

Appreciate your comments. I hope Canadian prices will eventually come down. Keeping my fingers crossed about the delivery.
