    That is remarkably good for a 'mere' 600mm equivalent lens! Slightly noisy but that is to be expected (this must be close to a 1:1 crop, no?). Personally I've had some luck shooting crescent moons, you get more crater detail as the sun is shining at it from the side and not head on.

    Yes it is a 1:1 crop.
    IMO This " mere 600mm " is a Good lens . It blows some Competition 300 mm lenses out of the water.
    If you look around on the internet and some of my Oly 70-300 shots
    It can produce some VERY nice pictures.

    Great shot !

    Yes, Olympus, actually Zuiko lenses, 70-300mm are better than Canon, Nikon or Pentax or any other 70-300mm lens out there.
