Default The Trent & Mersey Canal

I headed out for a walk to explore a canal a few miles away. I want to have a play with a variable ND filter to help smooth out the water..

Looking out over lock 59, it was quite windy, so the ND filter is also allowing moment in the trees to be captured.

Looking up at another lock with bridge. (3 shot HDR)

Ok so there was no need for the ND filter for this one, but since it was on on the lens I dialled it back to minimum. I added a little off camera back-light with a speedlite..

I might have been tempted with an HDR for this one, but the trees were moving too much, and there was no detail worth mentioning to pull out the sky anyway...

Nice set overall, but the second and third are really nice.

Loving three too and the nomination is worthy.... #2 is very cool as well though.

Missed this thread, but saw the nomination for shot 3 and it very well deserved. Nice series.

Really cool set Richard. I am not sure if it is my monitor, or if it is intentional, but the first one seems to me to have a slight yellow/green cast. It doesnt detract from the image for me but just thought I would mention it.

I really like the 2nd and 3rd ones here

    Thanks for all the comments..
Runmonty your correct, the slight green and yellow boost was intentionally added to all the photographs I took that day to help warm them up and make them work together as a set. It was one of those days where the sky was very flat and drab and I felt they needed something extra in post...

Thanks for the nomination BF much appreciated...
