    Default Rotary Wings

At the 50th anniversary of the Bathurst 1000 race in Oct we were constantly buzzed by helicopters going about their business. Camera work, Police, Tourist flights etc.

I'll start with this one hanging a race car beneath it and flying around the circuit several times. The reason ... this car was, on this day, very special to most Aussie motor racing fans. It's special paint job for the big race was in the style of one our greatest ever drivers ... Peter "Brocky" Brock, who died a few years ago doing what he loved most, racing. The livery is taken from some of Peter's most successful years in the sport, the late 70's and early 80's.
The driver of the car is Craig Lowndes whom Brocky took under his wing many moons ago and claimed he would be his successor. He was right.

Can't say I've seen a helicopter haul a car around. Really loving the first police chopper photo, it's a nice action pose.

Cool set MA. I Like the 2nd one that's in portrait mode. It really gives a sense of height and perspective with the mountains in the background. Like realist I really like the angle of first police chopper photo.

Nice job here - i wonder if the police force wouldn't want to purchase a few of these if you had time to offer them one day.

Cheers Marko. The cops have their own photographers so I doubt it very much.

Cool set. Are helicopters normally that busy around a road race? I wouldn't have expected that to be the case.

Not normally ... but this is the Bathurst 1000 ... it's special.

Another interesting set MA. When you are "on the road" you should try to get to Adelaide for the Clipsal race. I think you would enjoy it.
I welcome all critique and comments on any of my photos
