    Default Art of Violin Repair

I started out taking pictures on my phone of each instrument I worked on because I found I forgot a lot of details of what I was fixing particularly how it looked before, after and during the work. Essentially I was making a photographic note book. After a while I noted some pictures looked kinda nice, so I started to bring my camera in to work and setup my photos with more forethought. Eventually I even started to have some strange ideas, like the flower, which evolved to the tree growing from an open seam, to a tree growing a new bridge.

I'm pretty sure this will continue to be an ongoing series, I hope you enjoy it.

Great set. This is a very interesting and creative photo essay Risacher. I love it

My preference is the for the shots in the first post and the first photo in the second post. I do commend you on the "play" with the others though.

    Nice work

    Thank you all!

Barefoot and Marko, would you mind elaborating about what draws you to "Shavings?" I'd like to attempt to understand what draws others in.

    Thanks again!

I can appreciate the ability of one who has taken their craft to an art form, so that make the set interesting as a whole. I'm personally drawn to darker photographs and the light and DOF in Shavings is delicious. It, more so than the others of tool and technique, imparts a love of labor and a story yet told.

I don't know how I missed this thread last week, but these are amazing.

"Shavings" is my favorite as well. The lighting is perfect.

When I get home, I am nominating this image.
