Hi squirl. The reason I switched to Nikon is because I wanted a camera with accurate, sharp and consistent auto focus. The Nikon D700 has AMAZING auto focus. I had a chance to try a friends D700 and I was sold. The AUTO ISO feature is also a wonderful feature to have when shooting in constantly changing light. I could go on and on but really I switched because of the accurate auto focus. All the brands have there good points and bad. I guess it boils down to what is important to you - jimmy
