    Default Wide Angle

Hey guys ! Have a question ! Debating on a wide angle lens for my 40D ! It's between the Tamron 10-24mm or the Tokina 11-16mm ! Looks like the Tokina is winnng ! Currently I have the Tamron 17-50mm which I LOVE ! Just looking for something a bit wider ! Still being a "newbie",just wondering if it is worth it for the 11-16mm ! Mostly used for landscapes !

Check the Sigma 10-20. Dynamite lens.

I have the sigma 10-20 and I gotta say it's my favorite lens of the bunch.

I had the pleasure of using a friends Sigma 10-20mm and it was a VERY nice lens. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the others.

I also have the Sigma and love it, not used as much since I bought my Canon 17-35 mm. f/2.8 L but as far as a good priced wide angle I would strongly suggest the Sigma.

I too have used that lens and found it fab. It did noticeably distort people quite a bit though at the 20mm end for group shots.

Because of the lower performance at the extremes of zoom lenses I would suggest a slight overlap which would make the Tamron or Sigma a better choice than the Tokina. Tamron or Sigma is a toss up. Your profile says you are in Calgary. Go down the The Camera Store with your own camera and put lenses on and use them for ten or fifteen minutes. Go home and look at your results on the computer. Go back and get the one you like.
