    Default Cable release?

I recently bought a Fuji FinePix X100 and love it. It takes a manual cable release, and other forums tend to say "buy anything or use an old one." I've gone through two so far: a Gepe one that fell apart when I unscrewed the lock too far, and a cheap Kalt one that is difficult to thread enough to stay on.

I don't do eBay. Can anyone recommend a quality cable release? Thanks!

Update: I went to a camera store (University Camera in Iowa City) with my camera and tried several models. Every one I tried threaded correctly. I ended up with a different Kalt model (Deluxe Pro Cable Release 20", NP11133). The salesman was very helpful and showed me how the lock worked.

So my advice is not to buy this accessory online.

that is weird. back in the day (oh I hate that, don't you?) it was a standard size. I've got two of 'em and they thread exactly the same. Strange that the fuji would be so picky, but cool that it takes the old style.

I think it is a standard size. The other Kalt may not have been machined properly (it was close). Maybe back in the day they had better QC.
