    Congratulation.Great decision and you will love it.Best sharpness is on F:4 Works great in low light situation.I take many times for concert shots without flash and ISO 200.

    Oh! Tiger, that is a bummer! I hope you got some shots that you are pleased with tho :-)Since you were disappointed - maybe think of it this way: Not all photos need to have wide open f stops... sometimes seeing the detail surrounding the subject is good too. :-) (When your sweet daughter is 20, she may wish to remember who was there, how the house was decorated, etc.) Think back to Vyeko's post of the jets. I asked him what lens he used. He said his kit lens. The reason I mention this is because he showed that a kit lens does a good job ... his images are wonderful!
    Have fun playing with your new lens, but please leave your mind open to experimenting with the other apertures on the dial. :-) Have a critical - non emotional eye to your images and see what you like and don't like with the image. Make mental notes, and fine tune from there. Most importantly, until you put something up for competition - what matters most, do you like what your result is? Will the recipient?
