You are correct HBG. Nikon does a few things a$$ backwards...which bothers me on some level actually.
Their exposure composition scale has negative numbers on the RIGHT side. They call their lenses Nikkor even though the company is Nikon - They call macro micro. This is confusing unless you already have familiarity with their illogical nomenclature and conventions....so yeah Nikon is often 'special' in the worst sense of the word.
