    Going back about 1 year since I tested it but I found the autofocus very slow for a 2500. (then 3,000.)camera and it only had like 9 AF zones...the screen was also unimpressive if i recall. For my needs...very mediocre. Same price gets D700 gets you 51 sensor points and fast AF...BUT no video. Like I said depends on your needs. also 5dmark 2 is 21 MP...not important at all for me...but it may be important to some. Like I said - depends on yr needs

    I have a 40D..I have been using it for two years. I had a canon Xti which I did not like at all.
    If you can handle the smaller form factor, the T2i might be a choice. It is using a similar sensor as the 7D.

    Thanks for all the input. I went with the 50D and I don't regret it for a second.I even got a good deal on it! It makes my rebel feel like a point and shoot..I have not been on this site for a few weeks now because I can't put my camera down!!
