I see potential in these images, but I don't think you're quite there yet. I'd suggest going back to do a reshoot fairly early in the morning, preferably with a clear sky, the overcast in the images has resulted in a very even, boring light. If you have a polarizing filter, use that. The big issue though is the focus/DoF. There's too darn much of it. With all the trees in the upper image, you have a perfect background for a shallow DoF, selective focus image. As is, with everything focused, there's little to make the truck stand out, especially since it's very similar in colour to the background.

I would have to wait till February for clear sky lol. This is South West Nova Scotia, fog and lots of it. I don't have a polarizing filter. The focus is set on automatic. I tried doing shot with selective focus, didn't go that well.

I like the concept of #2. It provides more appeal than #1. The angle of which you shot at is better in 2 than 1, I would have maybe cleared the grass from the front so its not so distracting, and I agree with the above comment about the depth of field, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking at.

This truck was on private property so I took this from the side of the road. I didn't dare venture on the land to get the angles that I wanted.

I find that the truck is not quite old enough...sufficiently rusted or slightly bashed up to give it the character of an interesting centre of interest..with a "history" that the viewer could imagine.

I thought the same thing, I would have it preferred it to have been more rusty and more beat up. Maybe I should have taken a pic of hubby's truck, it's in worse shape.
