    Default Gangesta Glide

Out for a walk this morning I found this little guy and he wanted to fight. he had quite the disagreement with my camera and after realizing it didn't fight back he came after me it was great fun.

I have many many shots I think I like this one the best. C & C please?

    "hammer time"
All he needs is those M.C. Hammer pants.

Could you have taken the shot and then moved him to a better location for the shot?

I don't like the cut off legs.

Great overall... looks like he has an expression too.

    Very cool shot.
I agree w/mindforge about cutting off the legs in this case. If you are good at masking you might try to darken the background so the mantid's green pops harder as this background is a bit too busy with bright rocks.
Lastly, the eyes - they could be a wee bit sharper though I totally see the difficulty with extremely fine focus in a shot like this.

Thanks everyone. I would have moved this guy around except they bite and pinch. I haven't experienced it but I thought it better not to. He was constantly lunging toward the camera have others that are sharper but they don't work for other reasons. I did mask and then burn the background quite a bit. Anymore than I have here started to look really unnatural to me. But maybe I will try it again. Thanks again everyone!
