Default A lone barrack in the Arctic wilderness

Longyearbyen, Svalbard is a mining town in the norwegian Arctic. This barrack was housing the miners when some of the mines were still active. Now this city has a University Center focusing on Arctic topics (UNIS - The University Centre in Svalbard), and these barracks now house international students.
This picture shows the barrack farthest away from the rest of the town, and is lit by moonlight, mountain sides lit by the town, and there is also a starry ski with northern lights.

Cool shot! Looks a little desolate and remote, but the inside lights give a feeling of warmth and shelter if that makes sense.

I really like the composition of this, and while the faint green is nice, I would have liked to see a stronger presence of the aurora borealis.

Photography is more than just taking a picture and freezing the action, or leaving the shutter open. It is more than orchestrating the image with the stroke of a brush. Its the realization and explanation that reality is an isolated experience in which only a specific individual can comprehend during any given time period. - Your Truly!

Hey guys, thanks for the nice replies!
JAS_Photo: You got it, spot on! Thats exactly the message i wanted to tell with this image!
Gem: I have photos of the same building with much stronger aurora but i am not too happy with the image quality so i decided not to post it. I'll save the aurora pictures for later, when i get a great shot :-)
