    Default Jesus

I took this during the summer, it was taken at 5:37 am on an overcast morning, ISO 1000, shutter speed was 1/250 @ f/10. Just seeing if anyone has any comments on it seeing my last request garnered no comments I thought I would post something outside of band photos. Very little noticeable colour in the original and prefer it in B&W so just did a conversion.

I'm not too familiar with B&W conversions but this is not speaking out to me. What software are you using? Adjust the sliders. I hear that the red blue and green sliders should sum 100 total. Does it?

Oh, it's a little dark too.

Nice capture - I like the appearance of the high-ISO noise and the conversion. Very moody and appropriate. I wonder if it might not be worth putting a touch of gaussian blur on the building just to simulate a slightly shallower DoF?

I agree. The tonal quality is not there and neither is the range in the grey scale that should be present in a great black and white image.

    plus one....

i kinda like it as a sum... foreground and background.... but might experiment with isolating the foreground just to see the difference...

btw... that thread is still alive and you had a couple of visitors who didn't see it and wanted too...... maybe you could repost it...

I think the softness of the color goes well with the drama of the scene. I really like it!

Thanks for the comments, I like it but not sure I would use it in this incarnation but then again I might. I am just playing with it, this is the version I printed and sold, I like both but I prefer this version.

Edit: I thought this was it, I looked at the printed one it has more lens vignetting than this version, not sure where I put it, ooops lol.

I actually like the first shot much better. The tones need adjusting to make it sing, it's true but i prefer b/w here.

Nobody mentioned the really good composition here so I will. Very nice.
