Golden Budha at Dawn

So here's one I took early in the morning at a Thai Budhist Temple. It's a ca. 15 m tall golden statue of Budha, and it's taken at around 06:30 in the morning. Since I'm not usually up at that time (yes, I'm a lazy photographer) I was especially happy with the krispness of the morning light. I used a polarizer for this one.

What do you guys think?

I quite like the angle and the sharpness here!
Looks like some levels or curves play needed here as it looks underexposed on my monitor. After that I'd check the whites of the eyes for a bluish cast and remove as needed.

I like the angle too, and the composition. Looks like I'm right there. I agree with Marko - could be brightened up a bit.

its under exposed due to the polarizing filter. The trick to using one is to turn it just before it gets to the darkest point and back it off just a touch.

Thanks guys, agreed. I adjusted +0,45 on the exposure, but that wasn't quite enough, and the temperature was a little low. I think this correction improves it slightly....agreed?

The second one looks like an improvement to me. Just wondering .... if the picture is very early in the morning, is a polarizing filter even needed.

I went with the polarizer primarily to get a bluer sky. I didn't quite get the depth without it, the picture was taken in Thailand, so I assume general humidity is the reason a polarizer was required.....it's warm and moist most of the time, giving small water-droplets in the air that reflect just a little too much light for my taste. That said, I'm a polarizer junkie...
