Default Cannot decide on the background

Planning to use this image in a competition, but I cannot decide if I should use the warmer or colder background. Your comments are most appreciated.

I would have to say say the first one, the insects colour and outlines are much clearer and better. The second one I just find distracting.

I think something between the two myself. One looks too yellow and the other too blue!

The background looks slightly "busier" to my eye in the warm one, so I vote for the cooler one.

I find them both too busy for a subject that has an overabundance of strong lines on its own. I don't adjust my photos so I can't offer any suggestions on how to do it but a more subdued homogeneous background would work. A green would certainly make the wing texture stand out more.

It's that freaking F8 .... does not make the bokeh quite the way I would have liked it. I should have checked on my camera before i shot it .. but then again, by the time I would have figured out how to do that, they would have been gone. I think they were at the end of doing 'it' .... I could hear a big sigh coming from one of them, not sure which one, though..
