This is a discussion on marley within the Critiques forums, part of the Photography & Fine art photography category; I think the only pp I did here was a crop job - which it didn't need but I prefered....

Nice shot - love the expression and the sharpness on the eyes.

Colour balance seems way off on my monitor though. (too red)
    thx - Marko

    rediculously adorable....
nice simple composition & great focus on the eyes, too bad they werent a little brighter. but i think youd have to use lighting & reflectors or something to achieve that, and with an animal as your subject, that would be pretty tough.

I'm going to be the voice of dissent here: I do like the pose, and the dog's expression is absolutely perfect, BUT, it seems to me slightly under-exposed and the the point of focus appears to be on the bridge of his muzzle; rather than being tack-sharp, the nearest edges of his eyes are sharp, but the fartherest points are noticably soft, as is his muzzle. I would prefer to see this shot with a little more DoF, such that everything from his nose to his browline was in sharp focus.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.
