    Default The Fence

As I drove past this field I just had to stop, there was something clean about the composition that interested me. I hopped out of the truck and shot a few frames hand-held with different perspectives, and when I framed up another image the lines of the composition just clicked for me and I knew it was the way I wanted it. Peering through the viewfinder I notice a cloud has moved into such a position to cast a shadow along the small hill and fence in the distance giving depth and separation to the composition and completing the scene.

I really like this shot Joshua. I think it's a theme today but the only thing I would also try is a bit more cropping off the sky (either in camera or printing). Maybe 1-2 full inches depending on the sizing. Doing that, to my eye makes the fences POP a lot more.

In fact if you cropped the top, as a test, all the way to to smaller fence (or just leave 1/2 to 1 inch, it would look like the fences were going off into the ocean. It's just a thought. Either way nice shot!

I think that the composition is a little too "clean". Where is a horse, when you need one?
