First Pic with Rain Coat

Ok not with me in one, the new rain coat I was given was for my camera. Since I love being outside in all sorts of weather I got it a rain coat for Christmas and I had a few meetings today and always bring my camera with me. Well it was just a down pour and thought I would pull off and try it out in the rain since it is what is is for lol. Anyway I know the tree at the bottom is too dark any other comments welcome. Going to get a bit of getting used I must add but now when we get a good blizzard outside I go lol.

Interesting shot. Actually, my favourite parts are the bridge and building in the background that just fall into the atmosphere - I might have tried a different composition to get some more of that background in (eg a landscape oriented shot, with the main structure over to the right).

But of course, that's just guessing without having any facts. I do really like the feel of it, but the structure itself, framed as it is, doesn't do that much for me - I like it, but nothing more dramatic than that.

I like the idea of the rain shots though - must file that away and give it a try myself (plenty of rain over here in the ol' U of K...

I like it, it has a mood that's working imo and I dig the monochromatic warmish treatment.

I think I'd try to pull more detail out of the shadows at the bottom and perhaps dodge the apparatus on top of the right silo a wee bit (is it a silo?hmmm) Hope that helps - Marko

I agree with you marko, sort of what I noticed after I uploaded it. I wold have preferred a slightly different aspect the building but the choices were slim, it about the only clear shot you could get. Just like the feel and why I wanted the ability to do more rain and other weather systems. Not big on shooting a bright sunny days unless there are some very cool occasion cloud formations.

Nice capture - on a non-critique note, which raincoat did you buy?

The Kata E-702 long enough for up to a 300mm lens, I have longer lenses but not what I would use for the type of shooting I do in the rain. After my summer of Mud and Rain shooting outdoor concerts it to me is a must have and they are not that expensive.
