Default Photography student looking for some critiques !

Hello ! My name is Ashley and i'm currently enrolled in photography school in Ohio. I've been going for about a year now, and I think my work has progressed drastically. And I would love to know what others think as well. I'm about 90% sure I want to go into the nature photography field. But i've also included a photo of my friend Sierra painting at a graffiti wall. I hope you guys enjoy (:

First off, welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy your visit and I look forward to seeing more of your work. It's generally a good idea to keep critique requests to 1 or 2 images to give people the opportunity to provide a detailed analysis in the short time they have. It's a bit hard to critique a bunch of images but here I go...

    1) I like the somber mood and the row of birds. Interesting image.

    2) Nice shot of the flower and good technical control of exposure but the composition isn't quite working for me.

    3) I think I would have taken a few steps to the right and just shot the sunrise and the field. The truck doesn't seem to add to the story. That being said it's a lovely sunrise shot.

    4) That's a decent fireworks shot but I think it would have been better with a longer exposure to show the bright flares as they streak through the sky.

    5) My favourite of the set. I like the action shot that you captured with the paint spread out in front of your friend and her expression is great. Excellent timing on this shot. A slightly shallower depth of field would have blurred out some of the distracting background but all in all I like this one the most.

Again, nice work, I look forward to seeing more.

    Cheers!

I love these photos! The one with the birds is pretty cool but it is a little flat. I look forward to seeing more
