    Hi RDbender,

So glad that you have started posting. I recall (not all that long ago) that I was quite nervous about my first few posts, but it really isn't all that daunting.

As a general note, you will find that putting the image directly into the post, rather than a link will get better response on the forum.

    Now to the critique.

Firstly I really like the subject and you have done a great job of freezing the action to get a sharp image. I also like the colours and the way that you have blurred the background. My only suggestion would be in relation to the composition (layout of the image). To me, the empty space on either side isn't adding a lot to the image, so you could consider cropping some of that out. By positioning the main subject in accordance with the "rule of thirds" (rather than near the centre), you may obtain a more dynamic image. I have attached a cropped version of your photo to show what I mean (I also bumped up the contrast just a little). Overall I like the shot and am looking forward to seeing your next one

Please remember when reading critiques that these are personal opinions and that other peoples thoughts may vary. At the end of the day however, it is your creation and it is what you think that matters most.

The easiest way is to upload an image using the insert image button just above the post.

There is a video link Video on how to post on Photography.ca that will show you how.

As you have your image at Photobucket, you could just use the "insert image" button and click on the "from URL" tab copy and post the link address you used above

I can't really add anything to Runmonty's advice at this time. It's definitely very well focused with fine details.
