    Default Pine siskin

The cat was stalking this guy on the deck the other day. I thought I'd use the opportunity to try and get a close-up. I'm fairly happy with the image but I often overlook the obvious...

Nicely captured. I'd be inclined to try dodging his (her?) cheek/eye area just a little.

Other than the need of being able to see a little more detail in the small area to the right of the eye, I’d say very nicely done.

great capture - birds are tough to get sitting still! i'd maybe do as others say, dodge for detail & sharpen up that eye, and also maybe try to clone out the shadow under his tail, where theres a dark curve on the metal bar? so that line would be nice & sleek.

I'm looking at this on my laptop and not my normal desktop, but this looks VERY well done indeed!

It's a great shot. Is it a sparrow? Or is Pine Siskin the name of this bird? It looks like the sparrows we get over here but yours seems to have done his hair up for the night.
