    Default Promotional Video!

Wadup ya'll? Haven't been hurr in a while I've been working on a multiplicity of projects... Here is a promotional spot I just finished today! Tell me what you think. Does it work? Not enough images? Does it get you excited about my work?

Hmmm, how to say this? Well it doesn't work, none of it. The music is way over the top and comes across as abrasive rather than cutting edge as I assume you are trying to do. As for the voice over I kept expecting Sunday, Sunday at such and such this weekend a monster truck show. The fonts you use and those colours just not working and especially for a fine arts photographer. The video does not accentuate your work but overwhelms it. I also found the photo selection and all what I mention clash, I would rethink the photos used, some of them work but some don't. The ones of the house under construction I would not use. Also if you have a 90 second video it is a horrible idea to have 30+ seconds of it credits. Not usually this blunt but .....

As you asked I will agree with the above.

Imo you are trying too hard to make a flashy, dynamic, dramatic spot.

The motion graphics look rather cheap (if you don't have the skills to do this well, it's better to not do it at all, because all it does is pull down the level of artistry of your entire output, thus causing the viewer to not have confidence in your work. And doing it well is not easy, it demands some skill. I'm struggling with this myself.)

You are using flashy (cheap) transitions which pull the attention away from the photography rather than toward it, and the "fine art photography" tag on screen throughout the spot is just reminding the viewer of the intention, because this does not come across in the images.

You should be letting the photography be speaking for you, not the music and the transitions and pages of credits with dead space between them.

It seems to me the point of your current spot is to make a dynamic spot - whereas it should be about selling your photography (or selling your services as a photographer - I don't know which, it's certainly not clear from your video.)

I'd start again by listing out the things that the spot needs to achieve, and rethink how you make that happen.

Sorry if you were sitting back being pleased with yourself that you pulled it off - perhaps you may want to consider it a first draft

Not my style either. I don't have anything to add to AL or Ben.

Agree with the above. The music in particular is very harsh and does not compliment the photos imo.
