    I really like this. The lighting is excellent and the composition spot-on. Unfortunately, it seems to suffer from some pretty nasty purple fringing.

    I think I like the 1st shot better. I could see it was purple lighting due to the purple shadow in her hand. I think it gives a nice softening effect somehow.

    The treatment also looks nice and you've left her eyes nice and sharp with a strong catchlight.

    I prefer the first one too. Great focus on the eyes. There is some purple lighting in the first one.

    Nice job, Chantelle! I am curious, how did you achieve the effect of etherealness? I can't think of a better word to ask what I am thinking.

    I'm not a fan of the purple lighting at all as it's really quite distracting and takes away from the image, aside from that though - Really well done portrait! Everything else is totally working for me.

    I much prefer coloured light for backgrounds not models unless it's for a specific effect (red light for evil - green for monstrous etc).
