sun beams dancing on the water

I do like this shot. But am wondering if the sun near the center of the shot is too bright? Also someone would want to buy a print of it...how do you price these things? What would you list it for?

I like this shot.
The sun should be bright cuz, well, it's the sun. For me it is not too bright.

If this were my shot, I might try to get some more detail in the shadows by dodging the left side. Although it's not an easy clone, for me the branch running diagnally through the image is distracting, and i would try to remove it.

Selling the shot for good coin will be hard if you are not well known. The same shot can sell for 100x more if the artist is known. I have seen similar looking shots at 8x10 inches sell anywhere from 25 dollars to hundreds of dollars.

The problem in this shot is composition. There needs to be a centre of interest in a shot which is where the eye should be drawn.

In this case, if the shoreline is the centre of interest then the bridge, tree stumps and light on the water make the scene too visually distracting. If the bridge is the centre of attention then sunlight on the water and the shoreline are visual distractions. The sun alone shining on the water is not a strong enough centre of interest to create visual impact in this photo either.

In one sense this shot is too visually busy and in another sense there is not a sufficiently strong centre of interest. Combined with this are exposure problems. The sun on the water is washed out from overexposure but that seems to have been beyond control and the foreground is underexposed.

A good effort but unfortunately the shot does not work. Keep trying.
