    Default Man down!

I grew weary of taking macros of dead flies, so i found a way to make it more interesting. Happen to have these toy soldiers sitting around and it ended up being a nice parallel.

    Hope you enjoy it.
Let me know what you think.

Here's another angle which i don't feel is as effective. Do you have a favorite between the two?

very creative shots. I am not sure what to make of wanting to take macros of dead flies but I like what you did.

the composition is interesting in both. In the first the eye sees the soldier, then the fly causing one to go 'wth'?
In the second the focus is the fly first and the soldier second.

    very interesting.

While pictures of dead flies is not my thing I do love what you've done here. I really like number 1. The second one is too out of focus for me since both the fly and the soldier are both part of the story.

Now go see a therapist about this fetish for photgraphing dead flies you've admitted to!

Of course I love the play here - very nice!
Shot 2 is working for me in a weird/wonderful way.

Wow.. you guys interpreted my comment as if i was some kind of dead-fly hobby-photographer. Not exactly what i had in mind.

I found this dead fly on my bookshelf and with my macro lens, thought i would peer into the insect world to see what they look like up close. Without any other compliment, it was just a dead fly (i.e. doesn't make for very interesting photos) so when i mentioned i grew weary of shooting a lowly dead fly, this is what i meant.

In the end, it worked out well that i happen to have a few toy soldiers lying around the house and this medic complimented the situation appropriately.

I'll have to poke around the forums and see how the rest of you make interesting shots out of uninteresting subjects. Here's hoping i won't find too many cliché'd pictures of graffiti'd alleyway doors.

Of course! Give us an opening like that and we are gonna jump on it and twist it around until it's a mere ghostly resemblance at best of it's former self!
