I took this one with a P&S and decided to have a play with some processing with it. Some directional lighting and vignetting has been added to some other processes.
This one is a different process obviously

A painter takes their vision and makes it a reality. A photographer takes reality and makes it their vision.
Oh wow! Just beautiful! That second one is a breathe taker! Gorgeous colors!

Interesting treatment on both MA. I love the yellow in shot one but I find the top half of the flower way too dark or way too burned in.
Shot 2 I find could use a bit more burning in all around the main subject.
Hope that helps - Marko

"You have to milk the cow quite a lot, and get plenty of milk to get a little cheese." Henri Cartier-Bresson from The Decisive Moment.
You picked on the two very things I was trying to achieve the opposite of
I wanted the darkness in the first shot to highlight the 'spotlight' effect ... and I wanted a bright, almost blown out effect in the second to achieve a strong, fairytale glow I used an off camera flash to achieve that lighting to start with and went from there.
But that's ok ... I know you have a aversion to overly dark or overly light photos
I like the perspective and DOF on the first one MA. Beautiful flower.
