    Default A Deal Too Good To Refuse

    I took the plunge and ordered a Canon 7D body. Ordered it from McBain Camera in Edmonton for $1199.
    To compare;
    Henrys in Missisauga - $1279
    B&H in New York - $1599
    Not sure why they are so much cheaper in Canada, but I'm not complaining.

    I was going to wait a few months, however I think I got a really good deal and just couldn't refuse.

    That is pretty cheap. I would have bought a 7D, but got the 60D because I spent too much money as it was. If it was that cheap when I bought my camera I definitely would have!

    Thanks everyone. I'm looking forward to it. The delivery is 2-4 days so I'm hoping to get it by the weekend to give it a try. Mind you it's not the best time of year for pictures in Toronto/Mississauga. So barren and uncolourful, but I'm sure I will find something even if it isn't a masterpiece.

    This is the first time using Compact Flash Cards (yea I'm going to have to go shopping for some and I see they are MUCH more expensive that SD cards). Any idea what speed cards I should get for the Canon 7D ???

    Should be in your manual .... I am running with a Pixelflash 400xPro card in my D300s, and it does keep up on bursts of 7 shots (RAW), but then the buffer has a tough time transferring ... they make a 600xPro as well, more money, though .... but since you saved on your camera body

    Suggest investing in a fast card. I use a Sandisk Extreme 16Gb. I can only recall one time in the past 2 1/2 years that I wanted it to be faster, and I shoot a lot of sport. Raw files are approx 18 Mb and shooting at 8 fps means a lot of data. The cards aren't cheap though

    Thanks. Matt, Runmonty.
    Runmonty - by fast card what speed are you referring to. 400x, 600x.

    Yea I know the files are going to be bigger and at 7fps I will be going through a lot more disk space. Just bought a new 2TB drive to be be prepared. Got a good deal on that as well, $74 for the 7200 rpm drive.

    Forgot to say - congratulations on the purchase. I am sure you will love it. I look forward seeing some shots. Feel free to ask any questions, as you know there are a few 7D owners on the forum.
