Weddings are not something I ever do, even for family and friends..they make me too stressed. I worry that things will not be right and it isn't a "do over" sort of shoot.

The very hardest shoot I have ever done was for a very young pregnant teen who placed her daughter with an adoptive family at birth. It followed her pregnancy and included shots of the adoptive parents with the birth parents. The last shoot was a portrait session with the birth parents and baby, just prior to the adoption being finalized and the baby going to her new family. The photos are for the baby's life album, as well as a keepsake for the birth mother.

I like being a part of the happiness of weddings and childbirth (no 'action' shots though...no need to remember those). I've never been the primary photographer though...some day perhaps. I'd like to tag along as an assistant and take some courses first.

My wife had a miscarriage and we had a tough time with it. While doing some reading I came across a group called "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep" which seemed to connect with me in a different sort of way once I started to see the kinds of pictures are taken and what people had to say. "Healing photos" is the term I heard once...pictures that take us back to a specific memory so we don't ever forget. Has anyone on this forum ever volunteered for NILMDTS?

Default OH, I know if some...

I really love doing street punks and fashion photography, however, I am too shy to ask and scared that punks will hate me for taking there photos. However, to some of the replies above.. weddings are fairly easy peasy.. there are typical shots that are expected and the ones that are not usually are cool but never get purchased, like CU of cakes, rings, feet..etc..

Nudes, are easy too.. I am totally grossed out by nude people UNLESS I am behind my camera.. Then it is soo easy. I feel separated by the lens so just don't tell your photographer about your stretch marks, scars and dry acne you have on your butt, legs, thighs and breast and you will do just fine.. as a model.

I am kind of like the guy who said he couldn't do accidents. I get that one too.. I cannot.. I have seen too many motorcycle, pedestrian accidents of people's brains and faces gone.. gross me out.. one site that sticks out in my mind is ridetodie.com

Also I probably would not do sports.. sounds soo boring to me that I don't care bout it much.. although I do like some of the good photographers that use that high fashion with action look on some of the sports pics, but I really don't like athletics much..or sports in general..

Others are nature, landscape photos.. boring.. they are all pretty but same stuff and the pics are not very interesting to me..

I can't really say anything is 'Off Limits'. I am however uncomfortable with a lot of people shots. I just get nervous. I DO NOT take pictures of kids unless I know them, the parents and those around.

I've never just walked up to someone and ask them if I can take their photo. Although I am getting a lot more people asking me to take their picture when I'm doing some club shots for some of my DJ friends.

In the last while I've become more comfortable with photographing girls, I was approached by a girl I know who wanted to add to her portfolio but was tight on cash and figured I could maybe help her. We did a number of head shots, lots of different clothes and some semi nudes. This has netted me a bunch of quick work with other models she knows as well. I guess I just had to get the first one out of the way.
