    Default Darkroom setup

I really want to setup a home darkroom and someone gave me a lot of used equiptment, do I have to do anything to the enlarger before use? Also I'd love some general input on home darkrooms. Thank you.

    Default Enlarger and Darkroom tips

I would say that the key thing is aligninig the enlarger to be as straight (level) as possible.

So start with the table make sure that is perfectly level. Then put the enlarger on the table and make sure the enlarger is level. Startt there and tweak as necessary.

    Which enlarger did you get?

In terms of general tips - keep the wet side and the dry side (enlarger, papers, filters) as separate as possible, meaning at LEAST 5 feet apart.

Make sure the darkroon is fully dark, of course, and don't work with the red light right near the enlarger/paper. Have the red light act as a general light source NOT as a local light source. Your eyes will get used to it.

OH do I miss the darkroom.

Hope that helped and feel free to post again, I'm so jealous!
