I have found that there are always some that will only accept the critiques that their mother gives them. It's hard to accept criticism at times I had one image ripped apart at a workshop and it hurt, but it was true when I looked at it later with open eyes. The biggest thing is when you critique someones work you need to be constructive. Saying 'I don't like it' without explanation doesn't help anyone, though sometimes it's hard to nail down why you don't like the image. Criticism is a delicate thing, but I know if MA called me a 'dumb wanker' it would be meant in the best of ways.
Remember sometimes the one who criticises needs the thick skin.
