Hi,

I'm going to be covering an event this summer that will be completely new for me - shooting a competitive sailing regatta from the official boat, a Zodiac inflatable. I shoot with a Canon 40D and have an EF-S 17-55 F2.8 and an EF 70-200 F4L.

First thing I'm thinking is that I might need a second body. I do have C/PL filters for both lenses, and expect I'll need those to minimize glare from the water's surface as well as minimize blown out skies. Also, I'm considering whether I should attach a float to my camera in case it goes into the water (sure hope it doesn't ) or whether the best security might be to attach it to myself. Would the body or lens be severely or irreparably damaged by immersion anyway, rendering a float useless?

Any other technical or artistic tips?

Thanks!!
