There is one t-shirt in the store with the max amount of type on the back, as an example. Just waiting for the files for the official logo, then an approval of the design and things will be underway!

Gonna try to get some widgets for the blog tomorrow to pull images from both the flickr group and the FB group. Thx! M
Feel free to use anything of mine on there if you like. :)

Check this out from the G20 protesters regarding photographers in public covering their protests:
Fire.Works.For.Prisons — JUNE 27 2010 TORONTO
FWFP collective will not be communicating with media before, during, or after the June 27th event.
Media (video, sound recording, photos) that covers individuals without their consent will be confronted.
Individuals whose ideas are found in the intentions of this demo are welcome, representatives of media are not.
So much for public photography.
Some of the designs waiting for approval:
I like all these designs Jas! many thx!
If i had one comment.....
the text that describes 'our freedoms', that font seems a bit stiff to me...aside from that - very nice!
maybe we''ll wait for any additional comments today and then you (or I if need be) can upload these tomorrow?
many thx! Marko
Hi Marko!
In order to upload that much text I have to create a file in Elements and add text line by line, then upload as a transparent png file after which there is an approval waiting time. I will do the same text in different colors but if you have a font in mind let me know. I can always download it if I do not have it.
So if anyone was wondering why it is taking so long that is the reason. Text applied directly from their app goes on immediately but you are limited in fonts and style and the png file looks much nicer. :)
Fantastic. Great work. I am wondering though about the "Photography is not a Crime" shirts. Isn't there a bit of an issue with that? I don't know if Carlos Miller registered that as a trademark or a copyright or anything but I'm not sure if we can use it?
Cafe Press has a lot of them using the same words but by different designers, so I do not see why not.

Store looks great Jas - many thx!
I probably shouldn't have said anything about the font...Quote:

Here's 3 fonts I just looked at quickly the last one is really weird and called earwig factory.
Feel free to choose the one you like best even your original one - no worries at all. sorry on the bright red - my error - I tried to choose the same colour - but something wonky happened.
many thx again:highfive:
In terms of crediting people, I just copied and pasted people that posted in this thread and added a link to their websites if they had it posted in their profile. Feel free to PM Iggy or me if you want us to modify the credit.

Why was the Second Saturday of September picked? That is not a good weekend for a lot of parents of school age children, that is the weekend the school sends you home a list a foot long of supplies the kids needs. It is also a short week and the end of the first week of school and people usually are too tired that weekend to do much, being a parent just a bad weekend. The other issue is if you want HS kids involved they have not ever really started school yet so to get the word out at HS the date should be 3 to 4 weeks after the start of school. Just my thoughts feel free to ignore them.
Hey, A.L.
Marko and I were both going to be out of town the subsequent weekends in September and we both really wanted to be involved so we moved it ahead to the second Saturday. I don't really see this as a problem for parents since school supplies are bought in advance school, generally in late August. As for getting HS students involved, it's much easier to get the word out via the Internet than to rely on any kind of communication with the school system.
In terms of other weekends in sept - sept 4 is labour day weekend so many will be out of town. Sept 18 is Yom Kippur (holiest and a fasting day for Jews).
So Sept. 11 just seemed to fit....
Hope that's cool, especially since we've already started putting out "the word".
thx - Marko
I sure hope that doesn't mean you won't participate. :fingerscr
Is this being discussed here or elsewhere? I have been laid up for the past several days so I may have missed something and was just curious.
There conversation is mostly here. It's been quiet the last few days. We are continuing to post articles on the website and some links in the Facebook group and there's always room for images on Flickr.
Freelance photographer Lance Rosenfield was working on assignment for ProPublica in Texas City, Texas, last week, when a BP security guard began following him. Rosenfield was later detained by police after taking photos for two ProPublica stories.

A lens Cloth that would be a good idea for all photographers to own, just need a Canadian one.

Don't forget about the flickr group as well and please post your public photos there!
Awesome. Not quite the thousands I'd hoped for but there's still a couple of weeks yet! :)
So I am wondering if anyone from the Calgary contingent wants to meet up and shoot a photos? I guess the walk time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday? I have to work that evening but could go out and put in a couple of hours. :)
Don't be a slave to the 1:00pm schedule if a different time works better in your neighbourhood. I'm starting at 9:00am with plans to be done by noonish.
I was planning to spend some time Saturday in public with my camera. Where is "the walk" meeting on Saturday at 1:00? If I can I'll join. I love groups. Mike
Maybe meeting at the west end of Thompson park, across from the Devenish and heading down 17th to 4th street? Then down 4th? Unless someone has a different idea or somewhere they prefer but if the weather is not rainy there should be lots of people around.
That should work for me. Mike
I suppose I could join you. I want to end up at the "Broken City" on 11Ave around 3 for the Jazz jam. Might bring wifey along.
Sounds good! Hope the weather holds though. :(
Had a great time in Old Montreal Shooting for this project. I'll post more tomorrow, but here's 3 shots from today.
Cool stuff, Marko! Serendipity was on our side in Calgary as it was ACAD's Sidewalk Chalk Art Competition. I think Matt and Mike have a few images as well. They were great to photograph, and quite accommodating, chatting a little about their project and also one person thanked us for asking before taking the shots. We had to deal with rain showers which sucked for Chalk Walk especially.
Here we go:
This way!

An umbrella to try and keep the artwork dry. The artists were wonderfully accommodating and friendly.

We were able to chat with a few of the artists about the publicphotography idea as well, so a short but productive day for us!
Nice going, there, Marko and JAS. I enjoyed our walk, and had a chat here and there with the odd bystander. My contributions are a little bit different, first - to follow JAS's line - the artists ... here are two portraits of sorts:

Being in this 'artsy' part of town we also stumbled upon a couple of close bikes. Here they are:

And finally we ended up in a park commemorating the fallen soldiers of the first world war, the one to end all wars. There is a lantern burning there, as a memorial. Notice how the flame is caged - apparently there is no freedom.
