    Default Born again newbie

Well that is how I feel. Years ago I played with photography rather extensively but then I became a family man and I drifted away. So this summer I picked up a Nikon D80 and I've been loving it. Now my photos need lots of work, I always seem to get the KISS principle wrong and it seems to end up Keep It Stupid Simple. So I have lots to work on, many things to learn and lots of toys to lust after (I'm a man toys are important) I hope that my photos will one day be as brilliant as some of yours.

That's funny because the reverse brought me back to a camera. I was taking all these photography classes in high school, then I kind of just stopped. Film became a little expensive. I still shot here and there but then I kind of just lost the camera in a box somewhere and never went looking for it.

Then, I became a family man and went back to the camera, without a monetary barrier like the one I had at 18, I dove in. In my house we have a half dozen DSLR cameras, all sorts of old vintage cameras (I started photography at 11 on an Argus C3 of my grandfathers) because I love old vintage stuff and even with photoshop you cannot mimic the pictures out of an old brownie hawkeye or some of the unique cameras.

It is awesome you are coming back into photography. I shoot Nikon also. I always have a D90 with a 50mm 1.4G (oh yeah guys, it finally shipped - my wife inherited the 50mm 1.4D). I have other cameras but the d90 is like my little soldier. Well. In any case, really good to see another face.

What do you like to take pictures of the most?
