    Default Old Woods road

    Hello,
I live in Dartmouth and am looking for an old woods road that is not used any more. The road I enjoyed walking has been torn apart to make way for homes, unfortunately. It went on for miles by a nice stream and was so peaceful and quiet. Now I am looking for a similar road, one that is partially overgrown. This road will offer peace and quiet for a photographer who enjoys the solitude and serenity of such a spot. If you know of such a spot close to Dartmouth please let me know. Thank you.

it's always awful when your walking spot is taken away by development. I've had it happen more times then I like. I don't know of any spot in Dartmouth but what I've done is drive around looking for likely spots. Often they peter out but sometimes pay off. Also looking at the ns trails site can help.

It's not super isolated but it's a wonderful walk nonetheless is the Shubie Canal park. You can walk from Shubie beach on Lake Charles all the way through to Lake Micmac. Not sure if the path will show up well on the map but here's a map.

Thank you for your suggestion. I am looking for an isolated old woods road or cart track. It's the solitude and serenity that I seek most of all but these places also provide fine photographic opportunities as well.

I don't know how close Dartmouth is to Dartmoor but if you're interested in ancient woodlands and forests. Check out this link:

    Hope it helps

Thank you Northstone for your suggestion. However Dartmoor is approximately 5000km and an ocean away. I live on the eastcoast of Canada.
