    Greg, can you explain some examples of where and why you would use the setup like that? How long did it take you to put it all together? Is everything run off of a laptop? Is there a website you can refer me to that would expand on all my questions?

    Andrew,

    This is used for virtual reality photography, panoramic photography, gigapixel photography and time-lapse. It allows precise movement of the camera. It's been three years in the making, lots of 'well that didn't work'. Right now it is running off my netbook, but I also have a small Nokia N800 that will control it anything that runs Python can run it. My next step is to create a website for it.     Thats a cool machine. Is this your own invention?
    You must need a computer with a LOT of memory to edit a gigapixel image.
