Anyone get Lion yet and if so how it is? I know I will probably end up getting it but some opinions are worth getting.

Wow, Lion? Snow leopard is a great OS so it's gonna be interesting to see what new tech they bring to the table. Lion is the king of the cats though suggesting no where to go with the cat names in future releases. I had a mutant Mac as you may know and back on win 7 but for all the grief I suffered I have to have respect for the platform. Hoping some "Lion" users pipe up with their experiences

I will probably get it in a couple of weeks, as soon as I finish my current work project. Can't risk any downtime right now! I also had to wait for some essential apps to complete their Lion testing, in particular 1password, but they have finally come out with a Lion/Safari5.1 compatible version.

This is a good link to see what software you have is Lion compatible. Mac OS X Lion Application Compatibility - RoaringApps . Not happy with Apple at the moment bought my wife a new 15" Macbook last Thursday and it was supposed to have lion on it and of course I get home and start installing programs to only realize it is Snow Leopard, now they currently owe me two copies but since her serial number was not showing up for the Up to Date program we had to do it the ling form which take about 7-8 to verify. It is the second computer in 6 weeks they have done this to me with.

I have it and so far I am happy with it, I use a mac book pro and I like that I can now glide down through website by just flicking the mousepad. It was a bit odd to begin with but I am used to it now.
I have heard a couple of reports that it does not work with some adobe products so might not be great if you use photoshop etc-

The question to ask with respect to ANY OS upgrade is do you really need it.

Does the OS you have do what you need it to do? I know people who upgraded to Vista and ME because they had to have the newest thing. They got burned, of course, and they didn't get any new functionality that XP SP3 couldn't provide them.

Of course, Apple OS is REALLY cheap compared to the M$ products. So, I guess, why not just because. (But still, would it improve what you are doing now? Do you want to take the chance early on and have it not work with your applications maybe) I'd wait until everybody else has shaken the bugs out.

The biggest reason to upgrade to Lion is the fix of security issues. It goes the same for most software it is not the UI fluff or anything along those lines but this release of Lion does plug and fix several serious issues, no OS is immune from them so when I look at any upgrade the most important is what security issues do they rectify. Major overhaul makes OS X Lion king of security ? The Register

I saw that a week ago and he is not the brightest bulb, anything he complains about is an easy fix. I installed it on my 2009 15" MBP yesterday and just love it and my MBP runs faster and is more responsive. The reverse scroll is so easy to change if you are using a mouse and for the trackpad I actually prefer the reverse scroll, it is not like rocket science a click here and a click there and voila it is rectified. I like mission control and not sure what the issue is and if you do not want it just drag it out of the dock and it is never to be seen again. If those are his biggest issues he maybe should go back to an etch-a-sketch. It is very intuitive, east to use and every new OS be it Windows, OSX, Linux they all have new features that people are going to hate and people are going to love. I downloaded the 2 copies Apple owed me in under 20 minutes and not a single hitch, I think he downloaded it when everyone was trying to do it at the same time as a million other people. When I first saw that video I thought there were going to be real issues not ones that can be fixed without any issue and if you need to Google each and every issues you may not be ready to use a computer. It has to be the dumbest rant I have ever waisted my time watching.

So I think if you are on a Mac it is worth the upgrade. I give it 5 out of 5.
