Well when things get going good something happens to throw you off stride. Almost 2 weeks ago I was doing some usual wreckless s h i t and something went wrong and I broke my back in 3 places. Not looking for sympathy, just letting you all know why you won't be seeing any new photos for a while. Soonest I may be able to resume photography is 6 weeks and that would have to be with a tripod since I am walking with a cane along with my back brace for the next 12 to 16 weeks. After the 3rd day and they told me I would be able to walk again and it was all the good news I needed. For 3 days no one was sure if I was ever going to walk so it was a wee bit stressful lol. So the downside is I may be here more or then again sitting in a chair varies in duration and the amount of meds I am on may make trying to form an sentence pretty difficult. Lord do I miss my morphine shots lol. Now I have time to catch up on my backlog of work and finalize a the specs for a project I am working on. So in this case the cup may be half empty but the other half is full ........ Like everyone including me say s h i t happens. Also my truck and all my Camera equipment are not far from Marko, the insurance company will be towing it back the next week or two. Not like I need the Camera stuff now but I do sure miss the truck. I can drive it as soon as I get it. At least they did not add anymore metal to me, I am starting to worry about walking past large magnets, I may get stuck to one someday lmaooo ....... and if I do disappear for any length of time means they decided that my metal count is not high enough lmfaooooooo.

Bad news man but it sounds like you've got the right attitude and you'll pull through fine in time. I hope it all works out for you. If it gets tough, get hold of a book called "Reach for the sky" by Douglas Bader. Keep moving forward at all times, and I look forward to your tripod shots But more your handheld stuff

Wow. Sorry to hear about your situation. Glad you have a good attitude though. It makes getting better easier and usually a lot faster too!

Looking forward to more interesting posts though. If you have more "free time" to find interesting stuff on the web I'm sure we'll benefit from it

Good luck and get well soon!

Ouch . . my back hurts just reading this. Sure is nice to hear good news from the doctors once in a while. I thought I was gone 19 years ago yesterday. We hit an 1800 pound Moose with a Jeep at 11 at night. I can understand your stress waiting for reports. I didn't care if I walked backwards as long as I could walk. Such cheerfulness will go a long way in your recovery.

Well thanks all for you well wishes and concerns. The pharmaceutical gods have blessed me so I may still be in pain but as long as they are working their magic I really don't mind the pain, they are very effective at creating cognitive dissonance lol. Marko I am sure we could spend a few weeks on tales of some very silly and at time reckless behaviour Just we don't want to encourage it in others, or hmmmmmmm maybe we do hahahhahah ..... anyway back to other topics.

I really hate to hear about your situation, but as others have already pointed out your spirits seem to be “high” given the gravity of the injury. I hope your getting all the support you need. I’ve found myself in a similar predicament and if I may offer a word of advice; remember that you aren’t the only one suffering during the recovery. I was pretty hard to live with back then and wish now that I could have behaved better.

    Cheers, and get better soon!
