    Default tried something new today....

I went to New Ross to visit a friend. New Ross is a small community between the valley and south shore area. Anyway, I put on a pair of snow shoes and headed into the woods. I always figured I would be awful at it but it was surprisingly easy. and fun. and a real work out.

here they are on my feet. they are the old type of snow shoes. Note the baling twine holding the left one on

Here I am half-way along the trail. still upright. the 'house' behind me is a hunting camp in the woods.

Looks like you had fun. We used to play snowshoe baseball as a kid, I think it was a volleyball we used. Now I have the new plastic high-tech snowshoes, great for trudging through the bush in winter.

yes it was a lot of fun. could really feel how it helps loosen up the hips and strenghten the thighs and core muscles.

I think will put the high tech snowshoes on my list. It will open up so many more opportunities for photography.

no kidding!! It was either a small home that was moved or the person used leftover supplies from a home build .

I like that photo ... doggy is just sitting there waiting for master/mistress to move on.

I'd like to don a pair of snow shoes one day and go for a walk

thanks MA. My friend Cindy took it.

It really was alot of fun and great exercise. D'Arcy was absolutely fascinated by these things attached to my feet. It was quite funny to watch him watch my feet!!

When you do your Canadian Tour and if it's winter I will make sure you get to try it!
